StarToU: A Promising Upcoming Immersive Idol Game

What is StarToU (V Project)?

StarToU is an upcoming 3D mobile idol-training and rhythm game developed by Elementa Games. Elementa is a video game developer and publisher based in Singapore, a subsidiary of the Beijing-based parent company Happy Elements, which created the popular idol game Ensemble Stars! StarToU originally went by the name “V Project” until it was changed on August 20 to represent the community platform that is the heart of the game’s world. The world of StarToU is built on the fictional TOUCH technology, which is its immersive, memory-based interactive media system called “Echo.” Through Echo, players can connect with their favorite idols through immersive experiences and can relive their past through multiple perspectives.

The Idols: Lee, Near and OCT and MacGuffin

On January 27, 2026, Elementa dropped the first trailer for V Projects, showcasing their first three male idols, Lee, Near, and OCT. This youthful trainee trio is signed under the label Scoop Culture, and their journey appears to follow the typical coming-of-age idol story as they navigate the rigorous trainee system to become a successful idol group.

MacGuffin

On August 19, StartoU released a trailer on YouTube for its second group, MacGuffin. MacGuffin is a 4-member self-producing hip-hop group under the in-game Rhythm Rebellion label who is set on breaking the idol model with their fearless, rebellious attitude and playful humor. According to the trailer, the group disbanded in the past but now came back together for an unknown reason.

StarToU: Gameplay

On the game’s official Twitter, there is a post showcasing the game’s main menu features that will be available when players load up the game on their phones. So far, no release date has been officially announced by Elementa.

On the Home Screen, you will be welcomed to your favorite idols, where they will have pre-recorded interactions with each other. There are several different menu options you can tap on: Banners, Idol Info, Music Show, Idol Cards, Stories, and Group Archives.

Banners is likely where special events are promoted, and you can earn limited-time cards that feature your idols in special outfits. Idol Cards is where all your collected characters are stored, and you will likely have to upgrade your cards to power them up before each performance. Stories is where you can view your Echos where you will see moments and memories of each of the idols. Music Show is where the idols perform all their songs together on stage.

As stated before, Echos will allow you to immerse yourself in the idols’ memories and see into their pasts from multiple perspectives. You can earn more memories as you progress through the game.

TOKI is StarToU’s information platform and social hub where you can see the characters’ social media profiles and tap into live streams. You can see what idols you are following, like and favorite their posts, and see news regarding your favorite groups.

Starlit Stage is where all your idols will perform their songs together on stage. Before each show, players can customize their own group lineups, style outfits, and preset your card sets to create your own unique performances.

Finally, Star Journey is the idol group archive where you can track your journey, discoveries, and memories.
